The concept is very interesting, but it also wouldn't be hard to make it suck.

But hey, it can't be worse than the last animated Kong movie (/) or that last horrible animated series from a few years ago.

This sounds awful. A movie from Kong's perspective? Really?
And the fact thats it's going to be animated sounds even worse.
If this gets made (and I doubt it will, whatever happened to the Kong: King of Skull Island movie?), I'm assuming it will go staright to video?

What's this story that Mike Weber made? If we can find this story/book, then we'll have a better way of knowing what we'll get... or was that just a WEIRD way of say that guy is writing it?

Anyway, I'll check it out if/when it's released.

Allow me to update this topic and hopefully help clear up some of the confusion about the new "King Kong" prequel films.....Yes, "films". 3 of them to be exact! Check "Undead Backbrain" for an update on these projects and where they are at now:

That was an interesting read but I'm more confused then ever.
What studio is making the Devito film?
Is it going to be animated?
Will it go straight to video?
Is the FOX film going straight to video?

So many questions, not enough answers.

Oh and Avery, if you are the Jimmy Olsen of Backbrain, how about making this movie?

From Collider:

[quote="Adam Chitwood "]One of the more interesting projects on Levy’s development slate is a film called Kong. As Levy explains it, the pic is an animated re-imagining of King Kong:
[quote]“It’s an animated movie for Fox Animation and it’s a retelling of Kong as a family animated comedy… It’s in script stage; so no it’s not yet at the point where you’re doing those animation tests. It’s moving forward in that Fox Animation really likes it, I really like it, I think that when Fox Animation gets it right, almost always through Blue Sky, they get it really right. I’ve got a couple with them, and that’s the one that I think I’m the most bullish on.â€
