So, are you the kind of person that wants every single 1st print variant of issue #1? If so, IDW is doing an auction on to benefit the relief efforts in Japan that you'd be interested in.

EDIT: The auction also shows cover art for four "IDW building getting stomped" variants featuring people involved with the comic fleeing.

After reading the comic over I feel it hits all the right points. Nice and smooth with Godzilla's appearance and brief combat with Japan's F-2 fighter jets. I was a bit irked though by the odd plot device of having the Japanese launch a nuke at Godzilla from one of their own subs. Was this done deliberately by the comic writers, ignoring real-life Japan's abstinence when it comes to Nuclear weapons? Or some lapse in research?

Whatever. Its an interesting touch to see an Obama like president in the White House with reference to the Gulf Oil Spill. lol. Did a great job on giving some reasoning behind Godzilla gaining his radioactive breath. Hope the Legendary Pictures Godzilla flim does something similar. Nice art overall. Hungry for more....

I met IDW Godzilla cover artist Jeff Zornow at the Motor City Nightmares horror convention over the weekend. Super cool dude (who actually started a conversation with ME by complimenting my Hedorah shirt). He showed me the test pages he sent to Toho, as well as covers for the next 5 or so issues, some of which I'm not sure have made it online yet. I saw a really cool one with Godzilla wrestling the Battra larva. Some of the test pages also featured Kiryu, Hedorah, and the GFW Gigan (not a surprise that IDW is going with that design). Don't know if its anything new, but some of it can be seen on his website at http://zornowmustbedestroyed.com

He also had really cool artwork based on Halloween, Fright Night, Friday the 13th, The Howling, Day of the Dead, Creepshow, the Thing, Hammer movies, and tons more.
