Dreamcatcher- I hadn't seen it in awhile (since it first came out on home video) so I decided to watch it via Netflix streaming. The movie is pretty decent I'm not sure how it compares to the book because I've never read it. The alien designs where interesting and the CGI is really good for a movie that's 8 years old.

The ending did seem rushed. As for cutting a lot of the book from the film what movie based on a book doesn't do that?

It's a shame really that we can't get spot on translations from book to movie adaptations. I know that JP the book was really awesome don't get me wrong the movie was too but I think the book is way better.

i know all movies cut things from their respective books, but i was more upset by Dreamcatcher the movie basically disregarding MOST of the second-half of the novel.

as for Jurassic Park, that one kinda goes both ways. in some ways, yes the book is better, features fewer deus ex machina moments and suffers from almost none of Spielberg's insistance on nobody ever being seriously hurt (except Genero and Nedry who are "bad guys" anyway)...but I also remember the book DRAGGING quite badly in the middle where Chrichton basically devoted like 50 pages to the science behind everything and bogging everyone down in all the research...

though i will confide that it's been at least 10 years since I read the novel (maybe more)

Battle: LA

It was okay. I see why people considered the dialogue to be cliche, as it was extremely cliche. Some of the jokes were really dry. The alien design could have been better. To me they looked like droids with saucer heads. There are few more problems to the film, but I can't say it wasn't entertaining.

Gamera vs Zigra- Watched the dubb for nostalgia value and seeing the film in such a pristine shape was like seeing it for the first time. My only complaint would be that the audio for the dubb track was a little on the low side other than that everything was great.

Saw Paul. Vaguely enjoyable. Saw far too many children at this film. Like...5 and under kids. All in all I liked it more than the last alien film I watched, Battle: L.A.

Red State -awesome Kevin Smith at his A-game.

The Adjustment Bureau-fun sci-fi romance movie

Drive Angry - Silly movie but William Fichtner as the Accountant is one of my favorite characters ever. I want to buy this movie simply for him. This film had a modern grindhouse feel to it so take that for what you want.

Anti-christ - beautiful cinematography but overall I disliked the story and pacing. I just don't like any of Lars Von Trier's films

watched The Edge (1997). Nothing really that noteworthy. I like Alec Baldwin and Anthony Hopkins...so this was fun in that regard.

Fat Head- It's a documentary that takes the opposite route of Morgan Spurlocke's "Super Size Me" if the facts are correct in this documentary it changes a lot about how I'll look at dieting. I HIGHLY recommend checking this film out. If you have Netflix and a streaming device then you should defienlty watch it ASAP.
