The photo was taken for People magazine (yes, that's right), in an interview with Tanaka published in 1985 (written in late 1984) on the return of Godzilla to the big screen.

I think I saw this foot prop on display at the late Bandai Museum three years ago. When I saw it, deterioration had already set in.

This photo (featured in my book) was given to me by Akinori Takagi in 2004 (signed and dated on the reverse) — that's him on the left. Takagi was the guy in charge of motorized operations, such as the monster's eyes and mouths, as well as the ground vehicles and such things that were operated by radio control.

yeah, that's the cybot. How could you not know what it looks like, though? It's IN the movie! If someone doesn't beat me to it, I'll try to post some pictures of the cybot from my "making of" books when I get home.
