Yeah, I'll just take this opportunity to again stress how much I think Godzilla should be a bad guy. If this is just Godzilla the good guy vs. Another Monster then it'll be completely indistinguishable from any other superhero movie (except the characters are 200 ft. tall) and won't stand out. Make Godzilla the bad guy, have humanity fight him and you've automatically got an interesting story. I don't think it's an accident that some of the best Godzilla movies have followed this insanely simple template.

Of course, so did GINO, but we'll just ignore that. :?

I still prefer the concept as Tanaka saw it.....Godzilla is a bi-product of the monster in us kind of thing. We all know that we humans are capable of great things from either of two extremes and so is Godzilla. It's only natural for Godzilla to appear as the "bad guy" in the beginning as it was meant to be and yet protect his turf should an invader challenge him.
