Yep, you could see a clip from the disc before the print started, as I said, but it wasn't the same scene as where it picked up (as Kiryugoji said). They didn't know where the film would break, they were just really scared that it would. The print was probably in really poor shape.

Perhaps a thread on What People Want next year in the dealers room would be useful. Dealers can then see what people are looking for and stock accordingly.

You know, I can't say I'm totally against some gray market shenanigans at a convention for such an obscure genre but that one dealer - I think you guys know who I mean too - I just cannot STAND him. Or them. Whatever - it's like they don't even try. They peddle the shittiest-quality stuff and people eat it up all because they think he's the only one who can provide them with it while a vast potpourri of other sources abound elsewhere. He even sells equally awful boots of movies with perfectly wonderful R1 releases! It's ridiculous!

Our local anime convention is absolutely anti-bootleg and will kick out dealers that offer them.

The authorities shouldn't have to work as hard to sniff out bootleggers at conventions, because the fans should be reporting them. If there are bootlegs at Comic Con, they should be turned in immediately, especially since it's going on right now. I won't deny it, about a month ago I made an extensive call to the MMPA about the bootleggers at G-FEST. Ultimately it appears they didn't give a damn, so, may the kaiju pirates keep on bootleggin', I guess. ...Unless this other thing I have going on works out... :wink:
