Urban Legends Final Cut - blah

Underworld Rise of the Lycans - not terrible, actually...not at all GOOD, but it honestly might be the best in the series...

Night of the Demons - SPOILER WARNING for those of you who haven't seen the 22 year old movie yet, the black guy LIVES...how often does THAT happen in a horror movie???

Zatoichi's Conspiracy. The last of the original run of Zatoichi films, and another of my favorites. Ichi returns to his hometown, only to find that an old childhood friend, now a successful merchant, has arrived at the same time with a ruthless plan to use the village that reared him for his own financial gain. Kaiju fans will find a number of familiar faces here: Takashi Shimura (as a respected grandfatherly figure), Yoshio Tsuchiya (the town superintendent), and Eiji Okada (the main villain). Another splendid performance by star Shintaro Katsu, terrific music by Akira Ifukube, and some entertaining sword work round out the package.

The Burmese Harp

Very good. I read the book earlier this year and it's one of the rare times the movie got it better. The book had a brilliant idea, but in execution it was merely okay. The movie takes basically the same events, cuts out the unneeded bits, and does the whole thing stronger.

Bascially: at the end of WWII a Japanese troop in Burma surrenders upon hearing of their country's surrender, but on the way to their prisoner of war camp one of their number gets seperated. This soldier ends up stealing the robes of a Buddhist monk in order to more easily get through Burma and to the rest of his troop, of which he is dedicated to, but on the way he ends up experiencing a real spiritual calling and begins to become what he impersonates.

Also, a great score by Akira Ifukube!

The Blood Waters of Doctor Z (MST3K Version)- I wanted to see this movie after reading about it in the monster enyclopedia thank god I didn't buy it but streamed it on Netflix this film was terrible thankfully MST3K made it worth watching.

50 Worst Films Ever Made- Not really a movie persay but a documentary chronicling the 50 Worst Films Ever Made. The only film I didn't agree with on the list was number 44 which was Frankenstein Conquers the World. And no Troll 2 wasn't the worst film on their list in fact it didn't make the list. Again saw this on Netflix streaming.

Gran Torino-Clint Eastwood sure does make some pretty amazing movies. I loved this movie from beginning to end.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning-Eh, it wasn't exactly my cup of tea. The Original and maybe the first sequel are perhaps the best. I don't really care for any of the rest that came after that, this one being included. However, I did like Leatherface's mask, it looked (sic)!

taking of pelham 1-2-3 (2009) not really bad, not really good. the story itself was pretty good, the screenplay was decent, denzel was his usual self...but travolta was pretty bad, and the direction was downright terrible - this is a fairly ugly film to look at

Audition - for the most part, i really don't at all see what the BFD is...the first hour was generally boring and could have been cut in about half, and when it does start it's so confusing and tangled that it becomes disorienting, it saves itself a bit with a couple little twists and turns at the end, but this was SUPER disappointing for me
