I've always thought it would be cool to name a Godzilla movie after the Japanese title for when Godzilla, King of the Monsters was imported back to Japan from the US.

That is: Monster King Godzilla.

Well, I want this first film to be a sequel to G'54 so I'd like "Godzilla Returns". However if that title is kinda' passe so simply "Godzilla" would be fine.

But I really do want to see "Godzilla vs. ______" down the road.

Every other movie is either "So-and-So 2" or "Such-And-Such: Revenge of the Fallen". And most filmmakers are tied down to that. They have no other choice.

When you have an opportunity to have a sequel title that is different (such as Batman with TDK) then you should take it. It'll make your film immediately stand out from all of the other 2's and 3' and VII's coming out every summer.
