I recently rediscovered how damn well-made the Daimajin films were, and granted, they're kinda' all the same film/story, told three times over, but the technical aspects not to mention the concept are all solid and very commendable.

This new Daimajin was...not what I was expecting. I like the live-action-anime feel to it ala GARO (especially the costume designs) but the face on Daimajin is not doing it for me. The original Daimajin had such a great face with a lot of character, whereas this face is soulless-looking and really awkward. It's like how Kadokawa replaced Gamera's roar in GAMERA THE BRAVE with a generic King Kong roar.

Still...I'll watch it :)

Although I have zero interest in the way they are taking this series. Out of sheer respect of the original Daimajin I can pretty much guarantee I will watch it regardless.

Every time something new comes out for this it looks less daikaiju and more sentai, and I lose more interest. ...especially with the addition of faceless dog-hat guy.

Udin, which show are you referring to? I was talking about "Ancient Dogoo Girl" he had a link to. That came out in 2009. It looks crazy as hell, but I think it will be fun!

Man, the CGI creatures in the new trailer look awful. I reeeaaally want to feel good about this series, but I'm just not sold... Shame.

I'm reserving judgment till I see the first episode. I just hope the Daimajin plays a decent role. I'm sort of afraid the show will just spend too much time building up to his appearance instead of just using him from the get go.
