Yeah, I haven't been bothered by any of the other quibbles anybody has brought up with this set (although eschewing the trailers was a bad idea), but that vertical stretching on the Japanese WotG really is a big deal. It's an improperly framed transfer, not at all unlike ADV's Wrath of Daimajin DVD. What makes it especially ridiculous is that CM have consistently shown great-looking transfers on all of their prior DVDs, and they had Toho's WotG R2 to use as a source, so there's really no reason that they should have done that to it.
At least the US version reportedly looks great. It's at least as good as the Japanese version. I'll buy this set for that, the dual-versions of Rodan, and the documentary, but that issue with the Japanese WotG pushes this set much lower on my to-get list.
