New Final Fantasy XIII Trailers released, I think I posted that earlier, but if this is a repost, ignore the previous links.

These links contain higher quality trailers.

New firmware is up, 2.10. It adds support for DivX, and WMV I believe. It's also a Blu-Ray update. I'm not too sure what it's called, but there's going to be PIP with Blu-Rays from now on which has be done with only TV obviously, but there's now support for that with the PS3. And best of all... A voice changer has been added! Although I can imagine that the little kids that play online with their annoying voices will either try to make it sound deeper, or even more high pitched aka more annoying...

So I started AND beat Heavenly Sword today. It was pretty awesome, and it has been a long time since I've had a game I could be in one sitting. That was a nice nostalgic feel today. This game is going to do for me what Onimusha did on the PS2. Very awesome games, with a good story, but some really difficult mechanics.

My biggest gripes with HS are the worthless Sixaxis and the lack of checkpoints during a mission. It sucked knocking Roach down to 0 health on his third bar, go through the cut scene, and then get killed by his spinning attack, and then having to do the whole battle over. That was some very big bs. As for the Sixaxis, that was a joke. Thankfully they let you change it to the analog sticks, which made that ability awesome. Oh yeah, and the final boss fight has to be one of the most boring final battles I have ever played. There was no strategy to him at all. Roll, hit Square 3-4 times, roll, square, get hit by flying lightning bolts, square, etc. It was pretty much 3 battles of button mashing with Square, as nothing else seemed effective at all. Thankfully that battle was broken down so that you did not have to do the whole thing over.

The ending was pretty cool, but Kai truly stole the show from Nariko. Everything with here was just pure excellent. However, I am a little confused in the star system. In the mission where you have to save Nariko's father, I killed every enemy without him getting hit once, but I did not even get a single star. WTF???

Next up, I just spent the last 2 hours playing the Burnout Paradise demo and that was just driving around smashing into things and speeding off ramps. This game is definitely a must buy, and now I do not know if I can even play Revenge anymore. Burnout plus Open World equals pure brilliance.

We pretty much agree on HS. I also felt the last fight became a bit of a button masher, as battles before had some strategy involved, but since Bohan is so powerful you need to keep up the attack with him or else you're going to die. Sixaxis was definitely different though. I stuck with using that throughout the game but it was definitely hard to get use to at first. As for the stars, I think those actually correspond to the number of red pots you break (aka health points) during the levels, although I am not totally sure of that.

Kai is a freak. Just one of the odder characters i've seen in a game but I disagree there and feel that Bohan stole the show. That doesn't really take away from anyone else though. The voice acting was superb in this game.

Am I the only one who wishes they'd have a "Resume Playback" feature on DVDs? I hate watching a movie stopping it then having to restart the PS3 and try to find the closest scence to where I left off then fast foward to where I left off.

Not sure if this is the same with Blu-Rays but it's damn annoying.

Kain, what's your PSN ID? We should play the Burnout demo and tear up Paradise City.

Tom, you said Smackdown vs Raw '08 was fun, but how similar is it to '07? That's of course if you've even played it.

They put Warhawk (PS1) up on the PSN for download. I may have to get that, but...

There is a large rumor going around that the Japanese PSN got an ACTUAL MGS4 demo today. Some say it's true while others say it isn't. I don't know. I'm trying to create a Japanese account so I can see for myself, but i'm not having much luck with that since I can't read Japanese of course.
