Writers Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman deserve at least an equal portion of the blame for the Transformers movie. They do pretty good when it's their own stuff [Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Xena: Warrior Princess, Jack of All Trades] - but something weird happens when they start playing in someone else's sandbox.

Just look at the horrendous mess they churned out for 2005's The Legend of Zorro - and to think this pair isn't only writing the next Star Trek movie, they're the executive producers . :( I gave up any hope for that movie long ago...

That trailer, if real, possibly confirms what a poster posted a few pages ago about the smaller/human-sized creatures.....

It sounds legit, but, IF he saw it from a bootleg filmed copy, then that copy IS out there....

.....I suggest ya get to lookin', 'cause I REALLY don't think its' inclusion in Beowulf's gonna make me go see it.

I dunno, the report I read from AICN a while ago was that the trailer would run in front of I AM LEGEND.....I guess they changed their mind, or it was a lie. :?

I dunno - sure it's CG, sure it has quality voices, and yes it's based on the great time-tested fictional story/poem of one of the most notorious serial killers of the dark ages, who in turn has been everything from a supernatural creature to a misunderstood outcast, to a vagrant beggar, but there's something missing there...

I can't quite put my finger on it though. maybe it's 300. :P

.........which relates because Gerard Butler(King Leonidas) was in a movie called Grendel & Beowulf, AS Beowulf....:P :D

I dunno, I really don't understand the reasoning behind the 300 vs. Beowulf debate from what I've seen in previews of the movie. What similarities are there?

The feel, basically. It has that eery coloring like 300, and even if it IS about vikings and whatnot, the "invasion" sequences they've shown are kind of similar in style to 300's, due to the CG being used.

However, I HAVE heard that this movie is more fantasy/suspense than all-out action, so maybe that debate is a bit mute.
