Good news anylst are predicting that the PS3 could drop $100-$200 this fall if it drops $200 then it'll be the same price as the Premium 360.

G4TV had a news ticker about it today on AotS(Attack of the Show)

Ya i've heard about that... but that doesn't mean diddly for those of us that already have one (or two haha).

Well, damn it... Guess we'll just have to wait and see about that PS3 price. I would love to get one soon, but if it's rumored to go down soon then I might as well wait.

Yeah. Rainbow Six, Heavenly Sword, and Lair have been pushed back so much now that I don't care anymore. I have better games to buy, and since I'll have TF in about 2 weeks, I'll have a PS3 game to keep me occupied for a while, and then NGS in July (hopefully), with MP3 in Aug on the Wii, and then it'll be time to replay all of my REs as I get ready to watch RE:E.

Rainbow 6 is FINALLY out haha. It includes all the new maps, so it's a steal compared to the 360 version... Except the maps are now free on Live... and I already paid $10 for 5 of them. Thanks MS... Bastards. Well, it's still a great game no matter what.

Lair is also said to be out at the start of August with a demo this month. That looks pretty awesome.

And now, rumor has it that Gamestop has accidently confirmed a $200 price cut for the PS3 as they listed it as $399 in their recent news letter. However they also posted a follow-up saying that was wrong. Howard Stringer of Sony has confirmed they are looking at "refining" the price before Christmas. I have heard October on the Nexgen Wars forum. I just hope it's before Devil May Cry 4 because I would like to get the game for that rather than 360. I also hope that they do this cut when Warhawk comes out since that's suppose to be a huge game.

However, October makes more sense with the new promotion starting this month where when you buy a PS3 or other blu-ray player you get 5 free blu-ray movies to go along with it. Speaking of which, blu-ray has taken the lead in the format war with a big help to the PS3 according to this site:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/money/main.j ... xml&page=1

Well, I just hope that cut comes soon. I really want to get one in the fall when all the good games start coming out. Likewise I would like to pick up a Wii soon as well esp. with Metroid coming out next month, but I will be getting the PS3 first.

PS3 will see a $100 price drop
I would consider picking one up if they still had the 20 GB model and were selling it for $400.

Target is now also promoting the price drop in their 7/15 ad, pretty much confirming that Sony will cut the price next week. Apparently some Targets have already started selling them for $500, so anyone who wants one at the lower price now should check out their local Targets.

I'm now looking forward to seeing if Nintendo and Microsoft will drop the price on their systems. Sony has the first press conference, Nintendo is second, and Microsoft is third. I think Nintendo is in a strange place, because if they don't drop the price Microsoft could announce price drops and drop the core to $200 (if they don't just get rid of it), then Nintendo would have to announce their price drop after their press conference.

Price drop CONFIRMED by Sony... As is a new 80 gb version for $600 but it comes with Motorstorm which is pretty fun. I would rather them just focus on only selling one version right now, or rather dropping the 60 gb to $450 and the new 80 gb to $500; but they may lose too much money then.

Regardless, it's just about that time to pick up a PS3. Good thing I waited, just unfortunate i'll personally have to wait a bit longer but that's okay... 60 gb all the way for me... I can always use an external hard drive if I run out of space or if I decide to play OTHER games on there...

The 80GB is only for China though. At least, I believe that is what they said.

Anyway, what the hell do you need an additional 20GB for? 60 is already going to take a good 5 years to fill up.

Korea actually. I don't know why they are bothering with another version anyway, but whatever I guess. I really dislike all of these different versions that began with the 360... I'm all in favor of releasing a slimmed down or supped up version of the console to replace what's already being sold at the same price but with MS for example, it's ridiculous that they have 3 types of 360's on the market.

And you're right, 60 gb should be fine for a few years.

The new 80 gig version will lack the Emotion chip so that means that the PS3 will be like the 360 in BC and have to play PS2 and PSone games via software.
