Alright, finally got the second figure in my Chogokin triumvirate. Bandai's awesome GD-57B, Kiryu Black Version!

there's an awesome gallery to check him out. The last figure I need is the one I will be replacing - GiganGoji will get my old one pretty soon - the Death Trigger Gigan. After that, I could get any of the normal Mecha Godzillas, probably will get a Showa one, but it's these three repaints - metallic Gigan, black Kiryu, and Nirsawa's Gigan - that I particularly want.

Sweet.

That's pretty much the first word that came to mind when I opened the new CCP Jirass figure after work today. The sculpt and paint are absolutely dead on - it's pretty much model kit quality for the most part. Not a corner was cut, and the good news is that nothing from the CCP 1964 Godzilla figure was reused. In fact, it even comes with an accessory: the little rock he picked up and taunted Ultraman with in the episode. I really love this toy and I hope CCP continues in this direction for future kaiju releases, away from the glossy and slightly stylized figures such as the 1971 Godzilla and King Ghidora.

Here are some pictures. But believe me, photos don't do this one justice.

My Saiyudo Ultraman type C statue arrived today. Looks pretty good and the motion sensor works very well. Starts out with the eyes lighting up and a steady blue glow to the warning light. After 20 seconds, the warning light flashes red for another 20 seconds. I know some in this forum have a distaste for new Ultraman products due to the feud so I suppose there'll be some bashing.

It was Angilas madness today when I got home from work, with two unique Angilas toys to add to my collection.

The first one is the (very) delayed Marmit Monster Heaven Final Wars Angilas. Most would probably say they prefer the Bandai version (and boy is that no surprise) but for the most part I actually prefer this version. It's standing on two legs but at least in the film Angilas did do that a couple of times. The sculpt is pretty strong and unique compared to the Bandai version, unlike the FW versions of Godzilla and Gigan which looked too similar to the Bandai versions to be very interesting. I still wish the vinyl was a flat finish, but as it stands this one isn't all that glossy anyway. Now we just need that FW Rodan to come out.

pictures really dont make it out to be as good as it really is, though

Next up is something I'm surprised I like so much, considering glow toys aren't really my thing. It's an M-1 glow Bullmark Angilas. I haven't collected glow figures very much in the past. The only ones I own are a Marmit Dogora, an M-1 Matango, and a Bullmark reissue medium Jet Jaguar from that M-1 egg set. The reason being is that I generally make standard or realistic color versions of Marmit and M-1 toys top priority and those toys alone are hard enough to keep track of. But this guy is a real beaut. The front of the body is painted in sprays of lime green and copper but it's the back of the toy that wowed me. The back is sprayed in a metallic rainbow spray of blue, magenta, yellow, orange and green. Boy I don't know how to display this one. Maybe from the back...?

I just purchased Bandai Creation series 2, a little late I realize. There's nothing spectacular about these figures to me, but I'm still glad to have them. My favorites are the Godzilla and Ghidorah 2001 figures.

I also picked up three packs of the new Godzilla trading cards. :)
I like them, and I think I'll buy a few more packs.

Yesterday, I decided to pay a visit to my "dealer." He dooesn't usually have much, but when he does, it's usually good stuff. Here's what I got:

He sold them both to me in unopened boxes for eight bucks.

Had a pretty good weekend! :D As far as comments...The X-Plus Guilala and Konami Gyaos are especially amazing. I don't think I've ever seen so much detail crammed into a small figure like this Gyaos, if you get the chance, pick up this figure! And the little AAB-Gamma that comes with Guilala, totally cool! Even has all the little antennae...The Marmit Anguirus is a really nice model, I was a little disappointed that the kit wasn't bigger, but it's still right at Billiken scale which is nice. Definately nice detail on the head. The Artworks King Ghidorah is also nice, unfortunately, I wasn't as impressed with the other figures in the line. Overall though, I'm very happy with my purchases.
