I read a posting online earlier today saying that Eclipse, Criterion's long-rumored spinoff label, will be launched soon. Contrary to earlier reports, it won't devoted to cult titles, but rather will be a "budget" label offering lower-cost titles with no extras other than a trailer. I wonder if GOKE and X FROM OUTER SPACE might show up on the Eclipse label--I kind of doubt Criterion would want to give a title as minor as X FROM OUTER SPACE a deluxe release.

EQUINOX was supposed to be the first release of that line, and it's loaded with "extras". it got moved back to the main line because they weren't ready to launch the Eclipse line yet.

Wish some decent genre-respective outfit would release nice editions of Goke and Green Slime. Both are fun in totally different ways. Sinister Cinema used to carry a copy of Goke, but dropped it from their library a few years back - just about the time I was gonna get my butt around and buy it (of course!). Usually that means that a "legit" copy is about to surface, but I ain't seen nothin' yet!
