I've been watching the series for the first time for a little over a week now. I got through episodes 11 through 14 yesterday, all in a row.

I know I'm just the kajillionth person to be saying this and it must sound redundant by now, but WOW!

Seriously, this show goes above and beyond satisfying on ALL levels! The ongoing story arc between each episode is very much like that of Dragon Ball Z, and that's a very good thing. Some of the special effects (CGI, mattes, etc.) may be iffy, but I think it's forgiveable because it is a television show made with a TV budget after all. But honestly, for all of the spectacle and wonder of action and eye candy with the show's various Ultras, space beasts, mecha ships, and sentai troops, that's really only part of it. The richness and depth of the show's storyline and continuous plot pulls you in and engrosses you in it. All of the detailed subplots, nuanced characters, and addictively intriguing story elements make for an incredible and mesmerizing sense of escapism and awe.

To every one of you Godzilla fans who have always looked down on Ultraman with disdain, watch Nexus! To every one of you who like kaiju/toku with mature, in-depth, and mind-challenging plotlines that are carried strong by serious, well-acted, and thoroughly developed characters, watch Nexus! And to every one of you who like badass kaiju fighting and action, watch Nexus!

I know, I know, I'm just another fish in the bucket to be saying this. Those of you who have already seen Nexus know exactly what I'm talking about, and those of you who haven't watched it yet are thinking "Yeah, I've heard this all before". But I am not even kidding. I am seriously telling you to go out of your way of whatever it is you are currently doing at this minute other than reading this post, do whatever you have to do to obtain means of wathcing Ultraman Nexus, and GO WATCH NEXUS!!!

Like, a year ago, if you had told me there would be an Ultraman show that I would like, much less one that would be this AMAZING, I'd have called bullshit. And, then, lo and behold...

Watch Ultraman Nexus or die.
