Samuel L. Jackson has said that he accepted the role without ever reading the script, he was just so amused by the title that he couldn't resist.

Note to self: Send Sammy my script titled Invasion of the Radioactive Astro-Hookers.

I like the title myself! It's sweet and to the point, as opposed to the "subtle" titles like Lake Placid, Deep Blue Sea, etc. I can definitely handle Snakes on a Plane!

I dunno, if people accuse the title of being so bad, maybe the producers were going for a cult B-movie to begin with! Hell, I was even more stunned to see that the budget was $100,000! Lower than even Plan 9 from Outer Space ($600,000)!
