I like it, as long as the thing would still end with the goji left blowing up the rest of the city. On another note...I'm very concerned for neo godzilla jr's well being. O_O

Wow the possibilities that ending would have opened up whould have been truely awesome! (So long as the ring of fire survives at the end, ^_^)
Just imagine it What we think is Godzilla leaves only to appear in the sequal again (Of Course) and eventually gets in a fight with a new monster (Even Ghidorah would be great. ^_^) It gets to the point were it looks like Godzilla is going to lose but then suddenly he starts absorming Ghidorah's essence! Realizing that it's orga people would be freaking out not knowing what the alien mutant is really capable of nor what it's mental limits are.
If it could break away smaller clones of it'self it could start mimicing people too! A search would begin for the true King Of Monsters while the world panics as Orga could be anywere or anyone! (Just Like The thing. ^_^ Eventually Orga could have developed into a super monster capable of just about anything untill Godzilla makes his grand return mayby damaged or scared ready with a plan to defeat the alien doppleganger once and for all. ^_^
Man that could get really epic couldn't it?
It sort of makes you wonder just what sort of direction the series could have gone in if some decisions had been slightly altered. ^_^
It would be cool to develop a what if comic line exploring such notions sort of the way the Star Wars comics did. Just about anything could happen. ^_^
