It's in Japanese, and it's probably just a misspelling on Mechascorpio's part. I haven't gotten as far as Hiragana in my Japanese lessons yet.

Not only that, but my original posting missed Tanaka completely. It was only a few weeks ago that Ian pointed this out to me.

There is a new version of the summary with corrections coming soon. Ian wrote it up, I just haven't had a chance to post it because I've been moving this month.

So at the risk of looking like a total newbie, was the misspelling "Inishiro" (instead of "Inoshiro"), or that it should have been "Ishiro"? I know I've read the clarification of this somewhere in the past, but don't recall.

Thanks for clearing that up, Mechascorpio.

Yes, I have always heard that Mr. Honda preferred the spelling "Ishiro", but that in most American versions of his films, they misspelled his first name as "Inoshiro". I've never really seen it spelled as "Inishioro" before though.

Stuart Galbraith IV talked about this some in his book, Monsters Are Attacking Tokyo!.
