Well said Ed.

If you are expecting great and extensive monster battles you are wrong!
If you are expecting lame and extensive human battles you are right!

SPOILER (necessary anymore?)

One thing that looks extremely silly is before the final move, when X Leader and Ozaki are jumping at each other from far away, turning around and kicking several times in the air without hitting anything on their way before the final blow hits.
The whole fighting scenes look NG to me. That's why I think they are boring, especially in the end.

Frye brings the sword when the final survivors, i.e. our heroes, leave to get to the Goten. Then again he holds it when they drilled into the Aliens mother ship, but when the Xiliens teleport into the command room, they take it away from him. Later when they start to fight again, Frye grabs it in the air and slashes some of the Xiliens, oddly enough showing only cheap sparks flying instead of blood and the Xiliens seem to be well off. Maybe they have resistant clothes? But that makes the sword useless.

Later he encounters two Xiliens with laser weapons and slashes the sword into the wall, inviting his opponents to an even "street fight".

IMO the fighting scenes in Final Wars are tedious. I can only recommend to play TEKKEN 5 instead of watching those scenes - man that's good fighting and also it has better music

Since when is a katana ever used for anything other than to look cool? In the "go-go" world of the 21st century, to use a sword during modern combat is extremely unrealistic and also very unadvantageous. So, it's to totally look cool. And isn't it the same case with giant monsters? Totally unrealistic AND just made to be cool?
