GMK Godzilla's eyes

Does anybody know why Godzilla's eyes are all white in GMK? I've heard several fans say that it's a Zombie Godzilla or A Godzilla from a alternate universe, like Bizzaro Godzilla? Story-line did not divulge any info. Also i just saw a doritos ad last night that had Zilla the the US version of Godzilla eating a bag of doritos.

In Japanese lore, white eyes indicates something's evil or insane. I've seen that a lot in anime, with ghosts and other supernatural creatures having white eyes. You got to admit it is kind of creepy. It's like, the lights are on but nobody's home.
