FINAL WARS definitely does not take place in an alternate Showa continuity. I have NO idea where you heard such a thing, rockstar.

Meka, i too have heard that the Godzilla in this film was originally written to be The full grown Junior. Whether or not that's 100% true, i'm not really sure.

I will say that there's never been a Godzilla film I was looking forward to as much as I was this film. But I can't agree with any of you about this film really.

Tucker's review is an interesting read and all, but his overall feelings on the film still come across as a little muddled I mean, he clearly didn't hate the film, but other than that, he only seemed happy that Kitamura tried something "new", and didn't seem necessarily thrilled with how the film turned out, overall.

It's hilarious to see people defend a film like FINAL WARS so vigorously. Some people seem surprised that the film is considered a steaming pile by most of the fandom, which I don't get.
