Previously on SciFi JAPAN TV, we visited the popular Akihabara district and checked out some of the more popular toy stores. This week we take you to the lesser-known Nakano Broadway, a shopping mall next to Tokyo’s Nakano Station that is filled almost entirely with collectors’ stores, where you’ll find some of the rarest items in Japan!

I just found out that the SciFi Japan TV theme music is a remix of the Ultraman Ace theme.

I feel this lack of understanding has been a personal failing on my part.

Oh man, Nakano Broadway is an awesome place. I got to go shopping there once several years ago. It was every bit as fun as the video makes it look! One of my favorite memories from that day was going to this tiny alcove that was a DVD store and buying the newly released TOHO Godzilla ('54) bluray. The proprietor was a little old man who spoke no English (and I spoke only a handful of Japanese phrases) but he was sitting on a stool towards the back watching the brand new Rodan bluray. So I knew I was in the right place!

You know, in the first shopping video in Akihabara, I wish the host had made his way to Monsters Lab. It's probably THE best single store for Godzilla toys I've ever been to.
