Vegetables, Trees, Fruits and all the rest

right now me and my dad are planning to place some fruit trees and some regular trees for this winter (yes i know it is odd but that what he wanted to do)so i went and found some.

so what are you guys Gardening?

I hate to post this but I'm a lousy gardener. It a good thing that it's not my job.

Not much of a gardener, but I have a peach tree that has given me some great harvests over the years (got over 100 peaches one year, usually average around 50-80). That's pretty much it though.

I have tomato plants in my garden cause i have habit of making home made tomato ketchup and don't prefer that are available in stores.

^ garden fresh tomato is a totally different animal from anything you get in stores. I have no idea why that's the case? How are they making these tomatoes so bland?

^my understanding is that they pick the tomatoes long before they’re ripe so they can survive shipping. At some point they are exposed to a chemical that makes them react and turn red.

Ive heard there are similar processes for other fruits and vegetables that have short shelf lives.

Growing your own or a fresh, local farmers market is the only way to get tomatoes, peaches, and the like that actually taste anything like real food.

Can't wait for some fresh tomatoes in a few months. I love a good tomato sandwich!
