Wow. Sad news. Not that old, either.

That's just so sad to hear. Time to watch Stipes and Ghostbusters.

Sad news indeed. Now there will never be a Ghostbusters 3. It's unfortunate Bill Murray chose to drag his heels for so long.

My heart just wouldn't be into seeing a reboot really. I also hope they don't try to do something like Caddyshack 2 where Ray and Winston are the only 2 of the original cast to be in it. It just won't feel the same without Egon even if Bill Murray does agree to appear in the film.

He was great. I'll pass on any GB remakes. Or sequels.

He wrote and acted in some of my favorite movies ever made. Today is a very sad day. RIP

My wife's in nursing school 3 nights a week and I usually veg out on the couch and kill my evenings watching old movies. I just got 4 in the mail yesterday and was planning on scoping those out... then read of the passing of Mr. Ramis on Yahoo. I've tossed my new flicks on a shelf and instead dug out all the Ramis-related DVDs that I have. This week I'll be watching a Harold Ramis marathon: Animal House, Stripes, Caddyshack, NL's Vacation, Ghostbusters, Back To School, Groundhog Day, Analyze This, Analyze That... celebrating his contributions and paying respect to one of the funniest, sharpest-witted people to have ever blessed this world with the amazing gift of humor. He has such an incredible body of work. When you think about it, the man had a hand in some of the most influencial comedies of the past 30 years. Men across the US quote many of his classic lines every single day.

When someone asks you if you're a god, you say "YES!"

... you could go on and on. So much of what he wrote has become truly iconic. And everything I've read regarding him speaks of what a mild-mannered, down-to-earth, "regular guy" he was. No Hollywood ego or Prima Donna attitude. God bless him. What an awesome legacy, to have given us the gift of laughter... truly the best medicine.

RIP, Mr. Ramis. You will be dearly missed, but you've left behind something truly good and lasting.

He was one of the integral parts of the Second City revolution that made some of the greatest comedy, both on the big screen and the small. Being a teen in the late 70's and going through the 80's and into the 90's watching the brilliance that he had no small part in creating was a wonderful experience. So much joy now dimmed.

RIP Mr. Ramis. You were one of the truly greats.

It's hard to believe that Ghostbusters came out 30 years ago this summer. It seems like yesterday to me. I blink and Harold Ramis is 69 years old already. He kept his illness pretty well hidden from the public. That was part of the shock of his sudden unexpected death. 84 was a great year for movies and was pretty memorable for me since I turned 21 then. I also loved Stripes which I saw in the drive in when it first came out. I've heard several conflicting stories about Bill Murray and Harold Ramis finally making up after their falling out during the making of Groundhog Day. I guess that was part of the reason why Bill Murray was holding out on Ghostbusters 3. I hope they made their peace before it was too late. They may have at least been on speaking terms again during the making of the Ghostbusters video game several years ago.
