I <3 The 00's

I have the fondest memories of logging onto forums at GojiStomp, Andy's Palace, Tokyomonsters and other sites. Back then, the community was all charged up with the recently release of GINO and the steady influx of Heisei films in America--- and eventually the newer Millenium films and Gamera 3, which sort of became the summit of the entire period of Kaiju films for a time.
I recall the excitement of going to the bigger video stores that were still in business (Sam Goody, Media Play, etc.) to pick up the newest TriStar release on VHS. God, the corny cover art for Godzilla vs Destroyah, the hackeneyed description on the back of Space Godzilla (Not even the psychics know for sure!) and the GOD AWFUL font they insisted on using for all those tapes... Loved 'em anyhow.
Does anyone else have a special sense of nostalgia for this time period? Did you too spend countless hours playing Battle Legends on ZSNES, and eagerly counting down to the disappointment that was Megaguirus?
