It's supposed to make blacks as good as CRT (better than plasma) or maybe even better. The big deal is every individual pixel is light producing (no backlighting required like LCD or LED) and each pixel can be completely turned off independently, thus being the first flat panel to be able to produce true black.

What brand TV do you have? That sort of thing can play a part in PQ (picture quality).
I recently upgraded to a 42" LG Smart 3DTV and the picture is AMAZING easily one of the best HDTVs I've owned.
Another thing to factor O.Supreme is viewing distance are you sitting really close to the set or far away?
