I've needed a non-kaiju/tokusatsu film thread on this forum for awhile. NOT THAT ANY OF YOU PEOPLE WILL CARE OR WATCH THEM but I'm going to force them on you anyway!

I love all of you, you know that, right? <3 :D

Anyway, here is a thing I finished last night: https://vimeo.com/49809746

In this, the talented and lovely Christine patiently tolerates me as I film her painting process for an hour and twenty minutes. I've been struggling with editing an art film, which this footage was originally shot for, so I decided to take a break and edit this together as general montage practice. I think it turned out pretty nicely. Hope everyone likes it!

Will post more later.

EDIT: HERE ARE EMBEDDED VIDEOS, WOO.

So this weekend we completed principle photography on our single biggest production to date: NIVIS EX MACHINA. We actually had a full cast and crew this time out, with lots of fancy equipment everywhere. It was gorrammed crazy! With production values this high, it's very probable that this will be destined for the festival circuit! :D

Here, have some behind-the-scenes stills!

Our miniature division, hard at work:

And here's the majority of our cast and crew gathered for a group shot:

And you should totally like because we need all the attention we can get! Thanks! :D

This is a weird little film that was conceived of as an excuse to shoot something - anything - at a pool because I'd really wanted to do that at the time. Actually, I still do, because pretty much anything near water tends to be a cool location. We thought it'd be fun to do another thing with the argumentative characters from Luxembourg, albeit sans accents. So, for better or for worse, here it is. Hopefully you find some amusement in it.

Whine marks a sort of end of an era for Lobsterdance, as its release sees us leaving the stage of "a couple of nerds with a camera trying to make films," and our upcoming NIVIS EX MACHINA marks a paradigm shift towards considerably more professional productions. Please look forward to it!

Reposting some things out of my excitement over being able to embed videos now. XD

Additionally, we're going to finally be filming the miniature effects for Nivis Ex Machina this Friday night! WOOOOO.

Here is a music video that we produced for Moby's "Almost Home" contest on Genero.tv. We didn't win anything, unfortunately, but we're still super-proud of our final product. This is actually the first Lobsterdance Production directed by Elliot Long and the first to NOT be directed by myself, which is a crazy-huge step for us. We're growing! Exciting!

Anyway, we hope you enjoy it!

The first two days of principle photography for Lobsterdance's newest short film, ALIZARIN, have been soundly vanquished! Feeling pretty good right now, given that the script has made me a nervous wreck off and on throughout the past three months. It's the first straight-up drama I've ever directed, guys! No miniature effects, giant monsters (so I know you guys won't care XD), or absurdist comedy! BUT DEM STILLS THO.
