Congratulations! I've been debating whether or not I want to go back to school and get my MFA in video production.

My two year old and I had an epic monster brawl in the playroom today. Then we went upstairs and watched all the Godzilla vs Military scenes from Godzilla vs Biollante, Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla ‘93, and Mothra vs Godzilla ‘64 on the big screen while he snuggled up under my arm. It was magnificent.

And my wife told me that when she put him to bed last night he requested she sing the “fighter jet song”. It took some trial and error, but she eventually figured out he meant the , which she then proceeded to “sing” as much of as she could remember.
Then when she tucked him into his toddler bed, she said he snuggled into the blankets quietly singing, “BUM-bum-bum BUM-bum-bum” to himself. Lol!

Another treasure gotten for pennies at 2nd and Charles: the novelization of Reptilicus published in 1961! With a few minor repairs to re-bind the cover it's good as new!

I won a gift card in a drawing at a Christmas party recently, which was a nice treat. Normally I’d spend it on necessities or something for the kids but since they’re about to be spoiled heavily again for Christmas I decided to treat myself. I am on a business trip and I had time to visit a local comic shop where I purchased the latest G-fan and a collected volume of some Usagi Yojimbo. Not gonna lie; lhb, if you’re reading this, it’s your years of constant praise for the series that made me decide to check it out. And I must admit, it looks pretty amazing from what I thumbed through so far.

Oh, cool: that's the volume where the continuing series started properly. The first Fantagraphics volume collects the various short stories published in anthology books over a few years as Stan Sakai worked on the character and his craft as a cartoonist. They're fine, but much rougher stuff. Your volume starts with the proper issue #1!

Sweet. I saw that this was labeled volume two, but they didn’t have volume one on the shelf. And after reading the first couple of pages in the store I was confident I could jump in at this point and just enjoy the stories contained within, despite not reading things in “proper” order.

If you're gonna go with these single volumes I actually recommend starting with the second one!

Wife and I had a date night/her Christmas present last night. Kinda checked a thing off the bucket list by having a multi-course dinner where the chef prepares the menu and each course is brought to you and explained and was all UPSCALE BEYOND BELIEF (literally THE most expensive meal I've ever had in my entire life).
It was really REALLY cool, and an experience unto itself, and then we still had tickets later to see Beauty and the Beast the musical which was also really good. A nice 6 hours without kids, one of the tastiest and easily the coolest meal I've ever had in my life, a great evening with my wife...worth every penny (and there were a LOT of pennies spent).

I got a USPS notification that my package had been delivered and left with individual (despite me sitting in my kitchen, not having received it). I went outside and saw no package on my front porch. A minute later, I saw the mailman coming up holding like 10 boxes. She had scanned the boxes ahead of time to save time. Phew, delivery saved!

Awesome, you must be quite the fan to come out here to NorCal to see them. Local radio Stations have been having tons of contests to win tickets as prizes.

Had fun going to the Scarborough Renaissance Fair yesterday.
Checked out the falconry show (the golden eagle they had was HUGE), the fire whip show (guy was rather fun), and at various stores.
This one felt a bit more like an actual town than others I have attended (I have been to a LOT of them).
Plus it seemed a bit more "fantasy" based than based on a particular time period (like Robin Hood/King Henry the 8th).
Even had a "mermaid lagoon" with nice looking ladies dressed up as mermaids.
Didn't get too crazy with spending $, mostly cause my outfit is just about right.
Only small issue was the boots I have were kinda rubbing my ankle, and I had a blister...

we hit the local renfest every other year or so. but i can't say i've ever seen a mermaid lagoon, seems like the kind of thing they would shun at our renfest, but dragons have started becoming more accepted in recent years since Game of Thrones became the rage, so maybe its a slippery slope into the rest of fantasy

Never count out the general apathy about their job of a high school teenager forced to work in Guest Services.
With my ticket in-hand, I explained what happened, and he offered me a handicapped seat.
I now live in a world where Godzilla: King of the Monsters is in my past.
