I GOT MY INTERNSHIP. I'll be interning at a place called Kinetic Post as a post production intern. I'll be learning the ins and outs of audio and video editing, color correction, visual effects, DVD authoring, film restoration, and other such things. I have VERY minimal experience in a couple of those things and NO experience in the rest, so I look forward to learning a lot of skills that will hopefully make me more employable.

For the next five months, I will be I will be putting in mornings/afternoons there three days a week and doing the midnight shift at the gym five nights a week, working myself to the point of stupor and fending off my arch nemesis, exhaustion.

But I'm ready and pain is temporary and sleep is overrated.

And when this internship is over (and I take care of this pesky "incomplete" left over from a course last semester), I can finally graduate!!

First day of my internship went pretty well. I like all the other interns and the people I'm working with/for. Today was just basic intern-y stuff like making coffee and running around... I watched a rough cut of a Kellogg's commercial they're working on. I'll be sitting in with some editors and effects guys in the weeks to come.

Also, snooping around the library there, I found saw this on the "hold for edit" shelf.

Grindhouse/Cult movies and reels of trailers from Synapse Films and a negative for The Dorm That Dripped Blood. Not sure if I'll be working on any of this stuff, but seeing them in there had me geeking out (I know Synapse put DORM out on Blu-Ray recently, so maybe this is just stuff laying around from that?).

Went to my favorite Korean place today!! I've been miserable this past weekend with allergies, so I got some Kimchi Jiigae and this did manage to help despite it being spicy. I swear, every time I have this I fall in love with it more.
