That character is Tiger Mask, a famous manga and anime series from the late 1960s -- the series ran 105 episodes! -- which is still popular today. In fact, several Japanese professional wrestlers have taken up the mask and mantle of Tiger Mask, making the character one of the legends of Japanese pro-wrestling. But, he was a manga and anime character first, pro wrestler, second. Bandai vinyls of Tiger Mask and rival wrestlers from the manga and anime series, command big bucks today, and were reissued in the 1990s. Tiger Mask is one of the major icons of Japanese pop culture of the late 20th Century (there's even a club event named after him in Los Angeles). TIGER MASK RULES -- and the theme song (written by Shusuke Kikuchi) kicks major ass!
