Be sure to get the kid watching Wheel Of Fortune as soon as possible. Crazy as it sounds, it was a major stepping stone in my learning how to read. I had the alphabet down and considerable reading ability at the age of 2!
Oh, and if it's at-all related to it, I knew how to program the VCR at age 3. So it definitely might be productive to your kid's development!
