This Hell in a Cell DVD set is awesome. I know it doesn't have a whole lot in terms of technical wrestling, but it's great if you like the match (obviously). The Mankind/Undertaker match from '98 still had me going "WTF!" with those huge spots that Foley went through.

I just want to say that I now fondly recall the summer of '98. It was so awesome in the WWF because the 4 big super powers were all feuding (Austin, Taker, Kane, Mankind). Plus Mankind still read his awesome poems

So, the TNA game... wow... yeah... I played for a bit and couldn't really get into it. The controls are... all over the place. I found it difficult to even grapple with someone as you have to press two buttons at exactly the same time. It was awkward while running as well, and there were even instances where i'd get thrown into the turnbuckle and I couldn't get out for maybe 30 seconds. The matches aren't that interesting either. Falls count anywhere is sort of pointless, as the only weapon i've seen that you can use is a chair. Then from what I can tell in Ultimate X you can't do any moves on the ropes. I'm gonna give it another chance, but I don't expect to really enjoy it.

Oddly enough, the game really made me want to play the new Smackdown vs Raw instead. At least that is easier to control.

Edit:

Well, what a disappointment. Even when I got a basic grasp of the controls and started to get going I found myself kicking and punching most of the time. When I would go into the grapple I could only do a handful of moves, which is disappointing. And why do all finishers have to be done from the grapple? That is just weird.

I did love the Black Machismo training videos though... but that's just the thing. They were training videos. I'd rather there be an actual training mode.

My favorite part of this game is definitely the 5 TNA matches you get to watch on the disc. It's so weird seeing the old NWA:TNA because back then they were actually in an arena, and it looked pretty full. I am not really a big fan of the Impact Zone as I think it's too small (and do you really need two entrances?), but I suppose it works in terms of keeping costs down.

It's a shame this game won't have the same effect that WCW vs nWo World Tour had for that company (and wrestling in general) 11 years ago. Bring on Smackdown vs Raw '09. It may be mostly the same game we have had for years, but at least it is fun.

watch Hogan's matches from Japan, or even against Savage or Warrior at their respective Wrestlemania's. he can wrestle. he's no Steamboat of Flair, but he's got way more moves than that.

he just never needed to use them in the US. why change what works, right?

Batista won the title tonight... :(

I don't really have that much against Batista, it's just that like Cena he always seems to be involved in the title picture. I mean on Smackdown I think he had a title match at every PPV for over a year. Now I will say I really liked his feud with the Undertaker. Both had some really great matches, especially their WM one and I thought they both completely made the Smackdown Elimination Chamber match this year at No Way Out awesome, but I am just tired of the guy. Punk was different, Jericho was different, but now we're getting back to the same old at a time when Cena is coming back, too. Orton I don't mind as champ at all. I am a fan of his, but it's not like he held on to the title for 95% of a two-year time-span, and I thought he had some great matches with everyone he feuded with (I would still love to see him and Jeff Hardy fight again).

It just sucks because I know exactly why they took the belt off of Jericho and that's because the ratings have been slumping big time. Obviously when that happens Vince is going to assume the brand champ has a lot to do with that.

I was dissapointed Hardy didn't get the belt. I'm sick of Triple H as champ.

I'm predicting a three way for SS with Hardy, Triple H and Koslov.

Yeah the airport incident is nothing but it's the fact that the WWE/Hardy/Drinking or drugs has a loooooooong history together - Hardy was originally released from the WWE in 2003 after excessive drug use & refusal to go to rehab - July 2007 he was taken off of TV to supposedly heal from injuries but there was word going around that it was due to a 30 day suspension for failing the wellness program - March of this year he was suspended for 60 days for failing it once again - then the airport incident.

Hardy has a long outstanding problem with drugs/alcohol while in the WWE and even though the airport incident is actually a very frequent occurance in the real world and it went off without incident is actually ok - it is when you look at the overall big picture and I can understand the WWE's reluctance to putting the title on him. Could you imagine they put the world title on him and then a couple of weeks later he fails the "Wellness Policy" again?

Ever since the Benoit incident the WWE has been very firm with it's wellness policy as it pretty much is a company under the media microscope right now.

And the "Plane Ride From Hell" was a trip to hear about - Vince instead of firing Henning should have made a PPV match out of it like when Dustin Rhodes battled Barry Darsow in the back of a semi-trailer
