Let's see (it's been a while since I last posted):

SpongeBob 2: actually a pretty fun movie, and if Stephen Hillenburg comes back to the show, I expect good things to happen.

Kingsman: this was awesome! The only small issue, was that I didn't really like the young guy who takes over.
It was pretty funny hearing the reactions from a group of older ladies behind me.
They apparently thought this was a comedy...

Big Hero 6: was good, a tad sad at times, great action, and a pretty decent twist on the identity of the bad guy.
Must admit that I thought Honey Lemon was extremely nice looking...

Then we go to rentals:

Walking Amoung the Tombstones: Liam Neeson kicks ass, he kicks more ass, then he kicks the ass of the worst kind of guys.

A Million Ways to Die in the West: was a LOT better than I thought it would be.
This was actually kinda charming in a way.
Kinda like a modern Blazing Saddles.
The cameos were really fun.

Batman Assault on Arkham: this was really good, and IMO this is where DC needs to focus its energy.
The ladies (except Amanda Wheeler) were all nice.
The only small issue is what happens to Harvey "Two-Face" Dent.

Earth to Echo: Found footage movie, was pretty good.
Kinda like The Goonies meets ET.

The Box-Trolls: pretty good, obviously looked a bit weird, but most stop-motion stuff does.
Only problem was understanding what the trolls were saying sometimes.
Plus it was pretty obvious the bad guy was in disguise as a female.

Lucy: this was pretty good, good action, cool effects, and a cool story.
Despite the fact that the theory of us using only 10% of our brain has been proven false.
Though sometimes I do wonder about people...
If Scarlett can pull the same emotionally detached character in Ghost in the Shell, she could be a pretty good Major Matoko Kusanagi.
Just give her the dark hair she uses for part of the movie, and we should be good.

There might have been a couple more, but my brain can't think right now.
Just in case I will be going to Orlando for a few days.
Hopefully it will be fun.

Hercules - We took this out of the library and after watching it, I kind of wished we had gone to see this in theaters instead of some of the other choices we made. It was actually pretty damn good. I liked the realistic take they did on Hercules (even though it should have been Herakles) and the action was quite good. There was little in the way of plot and character development, but for what it had, it was done much better than other action movies have done recently. The acting was surprising because a movie like this is usually all style, especially in a Brett Ratner movie. Clearly the actors were doing this because they were enjoying themselves instead of just collecting a paycheck. I do also love the dig at the other Hercules movie from last year they made. Overall, I'd give it a 7/10.

Before this year's Oscars, I got a chance to see "Boyhood". How the movie was accomplished was a feat in itself. However, I feel the Academy will award it just because of that, and not so much for the narrative. For me, I thought the story was basically just another dime a dozen growing up tale, and quite overlong, if I may add. It was a great novelty, but not a fan of its execution.

Ragnarok (2013 Norwegian film)... I loved this. It was a family action adventure with a giant monster. The kind of movie I was hoping for with Super 8. I would have watched this movie a hundred times as a 13 year old so I got to wonder why someone in Hollywood didn't slap a big budget dub job on this and put it in wide release.
Its on Netflix Instant if you are so inclined to check it out

Birdman - After finally seeing this I have to say that the movie had absolutely phenomenal cinematography. In fact, the way it was filmed made me think a lot about Hitchcock's The Rope. The purpose the movie was aiming for was well done and I loved the scene when his inner conscious is talking about what audiences want. The acting is absolutely amazing, especially from both Stone and Keaton. Unfortunately, the rest of the movie is a mixed bag. It is slow moving, the characters are very unlikable people, and it falls apart right at the end. I am glad I got to see it, but I did not think this was even close to being as good as The Grand Budapest Hotel. I give it a 7/10.

Thunderball - A little slow moving, but the characters are great and the underwater battle is amazing. I give it a 9/10.

I've never gotten the love for Thunderball. I feel it's a competent film but I never have "fun" with it the way I do with From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, or You Only Live Twice.

I watched Daredevil for the first time since high school or thereabouts.
Wow. Does not hold up, and I don't recall it being very good. I mean, I remember loving it (I had a brief obsession with Daredevil 2001-2002 so the movie was the coolest thing ever) but wow. I've got the director's cut coming in the mail soon. So maybe that'll be a more enjoyable experience.

Thunderball is boring and I think it was at that point that I kinda stopped watching Bond movies with any sense of earnestness.

I saw Dr. No (BORING), Goldfinger (Awesome) and Thunderball (BORING) and figured "2 out of 3 snoozefests" and have only spottily watched any Bond since then.
