Festus was given a new gimmick on Friday as he came out as Luke Gallows: CM Punk's straight-edge bodyguard. What is exciting about this is that it seems rather similar to the Shawn Michaels/Diesel team in the early 90's.

I think right now we are back in that early 1990's period for the WWE. We have a lot of dumb, stupid storylines for the PG audience but then we also have some stand-out aspects, such as a CM Punk. Although we are still looking for this era's HBK/Hart rivalry.

Anyway, I have been pretty bored with Raw... I think I may have to start watching Smackdown again.

Edward Fatu aka Umaga has died.

He reportedly had a massive heart attack last night either due to prescription pain pills or because he had an undiagnosed case of sleep apnea. He was placed on life support all day, but there was nothing that could be done.

I always liked Umaga. He was a pretty talented big man in the vain of Vader and Rikishi. Even though he was the WWE version of Samoa Joe, he was entertaining to watch. RIP.

I ah see, the question is though who are fans going to tune into see the Rock or Hogan? My money is on Rock, I don't see Hogan staying with TNA to long.

Cena just cut the WORST promo ever. It was like watching a freaking Saturday morning kids special. He will never lose another match until he regains the title again? Ugh

That was a God-awful Raw. CM Punk was made to look extremely weak, the promos were terrible for the most part (esp. that Cena one), and the Slammys were just a joke. And my Lord, Michael Cole is just too damn much... I hate how they have this guy seem more like a host rather than a commentator. He made some really bad comments tonight, especially when he attacked the Smackdown announcing team. Can we see Striker and Lawler do some commentary? God, Raw is like a circus show more than anything. It's so sad. I just want to see a decent wrestling show, but instead we get this crap like the deal with Cena and this ridiculous DX merchandise junk.

Oh and let's not forget the matches tonight. DX is so edgy that they get themselves DQ'd so that Jericho can leave Raw. Then we have 2 large tag-matches that saw both of them end super fast. I mean come on now.

I keep forgetting to check out Smackdown, so I will just remind myself to DVR it.

According to Lords of Pain, Bret Hart has signed a short-term deal starting early January (to compete with Hogan's debut in TNA?) and running through two weeks after Wrestlemania.... Cool, a lot of people have been waiting to see him back in WWE, I love all the pops when WWE periodically teases his return one way or another... ;) Some were saying he may do one more match but with his health issues I doubt it, but it could be a very carefully constructed gimmick match. My guess is more of a general manager role and obviously at least some involvement with the Hart Dynasty... Should be interesting...
