It can be lonely being among a small, select group of people who actually want the price of oil to go UP...

...but such is life in the oil industry when layoffs start...

It was such a celebratory last episode, though. I was sad and happy at the same time.

I remember when Stephen first left The Daily Show to have his own show and how worried I was because I didn't want the best correspondent to leave (and, in truth, it took a couple of years for The Daily Show to recover in the correspondent department). I love the real Stephen, but the 'Stephen Colbert' character had become like a friend, and it's sad to say goodbye to a friend.

This is more just a "need to vent thing" but...

I'm getting a company phone in the near future here. We have a whole website where you go and put in what you need, the carrier, the phone, etc etc etc and basically set the whole thing up except paying for the actual physical phone itself because your order first needs to be approved by your manager since the company pays for the data plan. So, I go through and put in everything and it gets approved and I get an e-mail saying that I just need to call our Wireless Help Desk and give them my credit card info so they can order the phone.

I call, and enter my "Case #" from the e-mail to the automated thing and then am whisked away to a service rep...who proceeds to ask for my case number, the phone I want, the plan I need, the carrier I'd like, the international options I require...

...what the HELL was the point of all that other stuff then? The website, the automated portion of the phone call? Shouldn't this all pop up on a computer for her? What the hell?

I don't know if this exactly applies here but anybody know what's going on over at Toho Kingdom? I think my account was deleted in their latest forum disaster.

i heard through tumblr that an admin account had been hijacked and the hijacker proceeded to delete a number of users... there is probably more details on TK, but i don't frequent that forum. I also heard there was a mass unbanning. Sounds like a fun time.

I don't like how TCM is having their Marx Brothers marathon tomorrow night (Jan 1) instead of New Years Eve, as is proper!

Get it together TCM!

^ Not that a rock movie marathon is a bad thing (A Hard Day's Night, Gimme Shelter, Tommy) is a bad thing, but I'm glad the Marxathon is back at all. Only one Paramount film, though.

^Yeah, count you blessings and all. I really enjoyed Hard Day's Night. I think TCM is the entire reason I have cable.

Anyway, 2014 had a whole lot of sh*tty days for the human race. All one had to do was open the internet or turn on the TV and be greeted with some new extraordinary tragic turn of events, every day it seemed like. Let's hope 2015 will be kinder.

Yep, i will remember 2014 as a very sh*tty year for personal reasons (for example: my two-year relationship ended AND lost my job the same day exactly one year ago. And that was only the beginning). I hope this year to mark a change in my life. At least January 5th i will start a new job, so it's literally a new beginning for me.

Well I had to reregister at TK and now have to wait for my new username to be activated, whenever that is. I've been a member since at least 2007 and it's never been this bad.

^ Are you sure what happened there was a hacking? I haven't been paying much attention to that whole quagmire but it seems like Anthony/Arbok willingly handed the keys to the forums over to Miles/Vega/Information (the coding wiz and longtime admin who hates keeping people banned yet recurringly deletes active user accounts).

If it was a hacking, then things must not be back in order yet because the front page of the site still has that bizarre post from December 28...

How old is the battery, and is it still under warranty? Does the battery feel like it's frozen?

If it's still under warranty, you should be able to get it replaced. Last winter, the batteries on my mom's and my vehicles died about a month apart -- both were replaced by my father and I the year before. Same type of battery, from the very same store (O'Reilly Auto Parts) -- I figure it must have been a bad batch of batteries as they were quickly replaced by the store as soon as they were checked.

I've been driving the car for over three years and my dad had it before me for about three or four years he never put a battery in so chances are it was it's time. They normally last about 5 years so I'm surprised it didn't die sooner. Also yesterdya I had to order a new PS3 because mine decided to stop reading BD discs basically all my games where unplayable and a good chunk of my movies. The only thing I could do on it was play digital stuff. I have evrything backed up so as soon as the new PS3 comes in I'm just going to do a restore and I should be good to go.
