I was going to ask if anyone had ever heard of that company; there aren't many reviews for the products on Amazon. I didn't do a lot of research on them outside of going to their website and looking at their selection. Their tagline is "A Movie In Your Mind," and from the audio clip I listened to, it does sound like a narrated TV show (without the picture, of course). The real selling point for me was the multiple voice actor angle. I have some very cool books on cassette, but how cool would it be to hear different voices for each character instead of one man or woman? I have very high hopes for this.

On another note, it's going to be a while; the estimated delivery date is the end of the month. I wonder why it takes longer for these than it does for regular CDs. Maybe the packaging; I didn't pay attention to the size and weight or anything; I imagine that has something to do with it.

Picked up Issue 5 of Guardians of the Galaxy, lots of fun. It's getting me somewhat excited for Infinity.

Also picked up Issue 9 of Uncanny X-Men. It was alright, probably better if I had been reading for a while. Since I marathoned all of the movies I'd just been looking for a X-Mn comic to read.

I've also been reading all of Thanos' appearances. His first major story arc was interesting, death plays a role a bit, but it was all about Thanos becoming a god. The 1970s cosmic marvel stuff gets ridiculous, but I suppose that's its appeal.

http://comicsalliance.com/battling-boy- ... st-second/

[quote]Battling Boy is a departure for the idiosyncratic cartoonist in that it’s aimed more directly at younger readers. Kirby’s Kamandi: The Last Boy On Earth would appear to be a significant influence, and recent remarks made by Pope at Comic-Con International in San Diego confirm his fondness for that Kirby classic and a desire to create a new comic for children. CBR’s Sonia Harris quotes Pope as saying, “I sat down with the head of DC Comics. I really wanted to do Kamandi, this Jack Kirby character. I had this great pitch… and he said[b] ‘You think this is gonna be for kids? Stop, stop. We don’t publish comics for kids. We publish comics for 45-year olds. If you want to do comics for kids, you can do Scooby-Doo.â€

Read issue 3 of Scott Snyder and Sean Murphy's "The Wake"... its a claustrophobic horror story about Fish Monsters with hallucinogenic abilities... its written by Scott Snyder (who excels at horror writing by focusing on atmosphere instead of gore) so the writing so far has been pretty taut. It's planned as a ten issue series so i expect it will be released as two trades, so i'd say to keep this one on your radar. I'll be sticking with the monthlys, but at 3 issues in, i feel like i can highly recommend this series.
