Last one I watched was For a Few Dollars More, which is pretty damn good. I'll venture to say that, in some ways, I prefer the villain in this movie to Angel Eyes in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, if only because I find him scarier due to his insanity. I've been watching the Man With No Name "trilogy" (such as it is) backwards, so I still need to get to A Fistful of Dollars at some point.

I just finished Easy A. Stanley Tucci steals every single scene he is in. It's amazing.

I watched Iron Man 2 tonight and I have to say, I enjoyed it more than I remembered.

One thing Iron Man 2 does really well is keep the action light and bright and colorful and at least it maintains this consistent tone throughout the course of the film, unlike Captain America which in one scene is goofy as hell and in the next has people getting gunned down and in the next has a musical number and in the next has sidekicks falling from a train. Also, while the climax of Iron Man 2 is a touch unsatisfying (the drones are dispatched like toys and Whiplash never REALLY gains the upper-hand), at least it has a proper climax and a villainous plot that makes some semblence of sense. Cap has the briefest, most dissatisfying climax I think I've ever seen in a comic book film and Red Skull's plan is borderline nonsensical.

Iron Man 2 has faults, but they are in the middle of the film, where Avengers stuff gets plopped in when it should instead be developing the rivalry and tension between Stark and Vanko. It's a bit easier to overlook than something like Cap which just ends without warning.

The final battle could be better..but at least it's there. Red Skull just gets teleported up into the world tree and the 9 realms.

The Avengers stuff bothered me a bit more this time round, but I still love all the stuff about Tony's dad having worked for SHIELD and his legacy being left behind.

Just finished The Incredible Hulk. I think I maybe like it a little more? It really does have THE most satisfying end to one of these Avengers movies yet. I still like the 03' version more :3, if only by a little more. I think honestly if they had kept Sam Elliot and Jennifer Connelly it would have elevated the movie a whole lot. Too much of it feels "Meh, okay" and I think it could have really excelled if the whole thing wasn't being hoisted up only by Norton's performance.

And as a nerdy nitpick...I just wish the Abomination looked a little more like the comic book version. It just looks cooler as a big lizard monster than a weird man with exposed bones.

Honestly they could have just added the Abomination's ears and I'd shut up.

Another issue I have with Thor: SHIELD acts essentially as a villain. In every other Marvel film, the SHIELD people are there either outright helping the heroes or giving them some "tough love". Here, they are just jerks.

I don't know how else to explain how I don't "get" Loki's plan but...it's not like I don't understand what he was trying to do, it's that his motives and rationale and reasonings just don't JIVE for me. The movie is set up to give Loki every excuse in the world to just run with the evil path and he never takes it. He comes off as a whimp. Instead of going for the kill (literally) he opts for the weak way out. Instead of reacting as I presume a LOT of people would to the notion of being born to a completely different race and being lied to his whole life, he continues on essentially as if NOTHING changed.

Again, why bring up his relationship to the Frost Giants if it's NEVER EVER EVER used? Loki's plan all along was manipulate everything to be seen as a worthy successor to Odin and become king of Asgaard...Then what is the purpose of making him Leaufy's son? Because that's what's in the comics? It's the ultimate "do something for the sake of doing it without thinking of why we're doing it" moment. It doesn't pay off for a single second in Thor.

It'd all work MUCH better if Loki's plan was to get "revenge" on EVERYONE (Asgaard included) for lying to him his entire life. It'd make much more sense for him to react that way than for him to just say, "Oh well...I'm adopted...guess I'll just continue on with my plan to prove myself worthy in the eyes of not-my-father"

I'm sorry if people like Thor as a film, but the more I think about it and the more I see it (most recent viewing being my second) the less I like it and the more boring I find it to be.

ESPECIALLY after seeing just how good Loki can be in The Avengers.
