^Yeah - they're not the best quality because of the format (I saw Casablanca and Singin' in the Rain, too. They were the same).
... but that isn't the purpose of these screenings. We have Blu-Ray players. We see the films in immaculate quality. It's fun to see great films on the big screen with an audience of fans, and these live-streaming events make these experiences available in places that don't have film festivals or revival theaters.
Anyway, have stayed up far too late watching Hellboy II: The Golden Army. I love this film so much, one of my favorites, and certainly one of my top modern films: the dialogue is wonderfully clever; the story is both wild, whimsical, and smart (my fav combination); and in every other scene you know you'll see some new, wonderful, beautiful monster.
This is the Star Wars of monster movies: computer generated creatures, suitmation, puppets, makeup - every flavor of silver-screen beastie is represented and they're all gorgeous!
- and: cameos by the Universal monsters via the TV screens, a few Karloff/Frankenstein callbacks in Perlman's performance as Hellboy, and a Young Frankenstein reference!
