My gal had her last scheduled chemo treatment yesterday and found out some good news and bad news. Good news is she has a genetic dispostion to take chemo really well. Bad news is that same genetic disposition also makes her extremely susceptible to breast cancer as well, like there's an 80% chance she'll get it in her lifetime. Her mother survived breast cancer years ago, so she already was suspcious of that idea. They're already talking about a mammectomy/mastectomy. And I joke that the worst part is she's thinking of going from her D's to implants of C's (The horror!). Got try to find the humor in life, right?

They also told her that she should try to go back to work, but they have her planned for a hysterectomy/de-massing of the cancerous areas in November. So she had to go under the knife as soon as she probably would have gotten her strength up to go back to retail job.

And last week she went to her GP, the same idoit that kept dragging on with the "It's a virus" line. He repremanded her for loosing so much weight in such a short time. Stage 4 ovarian cance and heavy chemo treatments tend to do that to a person, if I know that some one running a practice should too. I told her to ask her cancer doc for recomendations for GPs.

Sounds like good news on the chemo, and good to find out about the predisposition early... But yeah time for a new GP.

Tuesday I worked a 16 hour day, 3p-7a. About 11pm I started to feel achey and soon afterwards it hurt to take deep breaths. I struggled through it, like the idiot I am. Went to bed at 8 and woke up an hour or so later and went to the ER. Thankfully it wasn't a heart attack but walking pneumonia. So I've been in the hospital over night, possibly staying over tonight too.

That sucks man. I've been rocking tons of OT too (16 hr day Friday, 8 hrs of work Sunday, 13 hr days every day this week so far, on top of helping my wife decorate and tear down her school's homecoming dance since she's in charge of running it), but the worst I've felt is so exhausted I took a 10-minute nap at my desk.

My car just completely broke down. If I was driving it for more than 4 weeks, I might not be so angry.

A couple days ago I saved a Robin from a cat. Today the nature rehab place sent me an email saying it died. Yesterday my cat almost died by choking to death on a hairball after a night at the animal hospital and a $500 vet bill I've found out she has chronic kidney failure and these past few weeks I've just felt down in the dumps. The godzilla concept teaser and the unfinished trailer are pretty much the only bright spots I've had in a while.

I know it's backwards to b*tch about a potential promotion...but I just heard a rumor that if true might see me looking for a new place to work.

They want to move me into a position that would have me running a 2 to 3 hour commute each day. I won't be able to handle that. I had a 1.5 hr commute for a while and hated it so much I complained to my manager for 4 months until he moved to a better location. I now drive 25 minutes to an hour when traffic is apocalyptic. If they make me move again, I'll be seeing what other petroleum companies want someone with 2 years experience with one of their competitors/vendors/clients.

That an awful commute, especially both ways plus a typical 8 hour work day means without OT, you're already working 12 hours or more.

What about relocation?

I know that feeling Jelly; my work is really starting to piss me off hours have been cut down to bare minimum but thankfully they're starting to pick back up. I normally don't care about money but with me almost done with school and living at home still an extra $5-$6 an hour would really help. I told myself that I'm giving it till April if I'm not full time or Management by then I'm looking for a new job considering I do have a degree in Management I should be putting it to use.

Looks like full time could be on the horizon for me. One of the guys in my department is probably going to transfer to thirds, another is probably going to get let go and the woman in my department is transfering stores next month on top of that a few management positions opened up too.

<sigh>
some guy: Would you still be friends with someone, if they were every thing you could possibly ever want in a best friend, but it turned out they were gay?
me: Dude, what a bullsh*t f*cking question. How homophobic can you be? That kind of bullsh*t homophobism is garbage. Just because someone is gay means I should question if they are my friend. You disgust me. Garbage.
moderator: You have been permanently banned for repeated usage of gay slurs to insult other members.

So, using the word "homophobe" to deride someone for bigoted thinking is now a gay slur.

WHAT. THE. F*CK?!?!?!

I think I've been banned from TK. Not sure why, because it wont let me login, and constantly re-directs me to a hidden "banned forum" when I try to click on anything.

WTF.
