While I will admit that things got a little weird with the fat people in Wall-E, it is still my favorite Pixar movie because it really stands out to me. In fact, I hear more people complain about the lack of dialog in the first half than I do in the second half, which I think is where the movie really shines. It's like people need to have someone talk during a movie to enjoy it. I'd hate to see what would happen if they ever watched a silent movie. Then again, I remember when I saw Sin City some lady shouted, "THIS MOVIE BETTER NOT BE BLACK AND WHITE THE ENTIRE TIME!!"
BTW, I'm on the exact opposite with Lord of the Rings. Both Two Towers and The Return of the King were my favorite movies for the years they came out. Fellowship would have probably been my favorite movie of 2001 had they done the Extended Edition instead of what they gave us. And while The Hobbit was my second favorite movie of this year, I am expecting Part 2 to be my favorite movie for next year, as there really isn't a lot I am looking forward to.
Iron Man 3 has not impressed me at all by the trailers. I am sure it will be good, but they have a lot to do after Avengers. Pacific Rim looks like a good one time watch action movie with lots of great effects and piss poor acting military stereotypes. GI Joe is going to suck balls. The more I see stuff on the Lone Ranger the less I am interested. And then there are pointless sequels coming out like 300 2 and Monster University. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure Pixar will give us a great movie, but I am tired of their sequels suddenly. Anyway, if anything needs a sequel, it is The Incredibles.

Didn't see much this year, but what I did see, I'd probably rank as such.
1. Django Unchained
2. The Dark Knight Rises
3. The Hobbit
4. Prometheus
5. The Grey
6. The Amazing Spider-Man
7. Brave
8. The Avengers
9. Lincoln
I still haven't gotten around to seeing Skyfall, Argo, Wreck-It-Ralph, Moonrise Kingdom, Dredd, Life of Pi, OR Cabin in the Woods..
I think The Avengers is great and all..but I saw it twice, and don't really feel the need to see it again. It's an extremely well down 'crowd pleaser', but it's something I don't see myself revisiting again unless somebody else happens to put it on. It's a fun, but ultimately hollow viewing experience, IMOHO. It's clearly one of the best superhero movies ever made, but for whatever reason I find it kind of meh. Different strokes for different folks, I suppose.
