It's been about a month ago, but it made my day...night..really early morning...whatever. I became an Uncle. He came a few days early (they never come on schedule, so I'm told) but he was healthy. After two miscarriages, no less. So that made my day...a month ago.

Plush, he's really squishy and squeezy, so that makes my day every time I see him. :D

Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.

It made me a lot happier than I have been with the place in quite awhile. I've kind of hated work for some time but now things are starting to mellow out.

Stephen Colbert will be back on TV tonight! I'm so excited: in the past 9 months or so all the great late night hosts (at least the ones I thought were great) ended their respective runs: Ferguson, Colbert Report, and Jon Stewart.

It'll be great to have Colbert back, even if his 'Stephen Colbert' character is no more. Colbert is always funny, and has several different comedic personas he slips into depending on situation, so I'm not worried about whether he'll be funny or not. He's just such an incredible comic performer. I'm so excited!

Yesterday at work, one of the bartenders called me "ballsy" (for going to an upcoming music festival by myself) while a customer called me "young man."

Trust me, I'm neither.

After months and months of applying and several interviews that went no where, I got a job in medical coding.

Now, not only will I get a heck of a pay raise (even more so when my apprenticeship status is cleared on my certification) but I'll have a normalized schedule that allow me to see my girlfriend more often. And I won't have to deal with the crap schedule change that my current job is implementing, which when told how bad it'll be for people's schedules for college classes and kids (including a person who could lose free days they have custody of their kids) they said "[The Company] isn't here to conform to your life". Classy folks I'm working for. Hope they get fired and then set on fire. Not to death, but just a hell of a fright, maybe some minor burns but they'll lose their favorite shirt and damage their phone.

And the place is a 7 minute drive. I'd say I'd ride my bike to work during summer, but it's near a heavy traffic area and wouldn't want to get splatted on my way to work.

So I totally didn't waste nearly $2k on my CPC license!

I thought I had long since used up all of my various hotel rewards points I've accumulated over the years, but I just figured out I had enough for one more free night at a holiday inn! Which means my hotel for when I go see The Force Awakens in Indy is free!

So I've had issues with double vision for awhile. Finally went to the eye doctor and got a new prescription, apparently one of my eyes was de-compensating or something. I just picked up my new glasses.

Holy cow. I guess the double vision really affected my sense of depth or something because it feels like I'm in a permanent 3D movie. I mean I guess this is how most people see normally but it's new enough to me to be kind of mind blowing.

Like even the background on my phone pops out a bit to me, and I know that's just a flat image.

Although there's this sort of white-blue-shiney sheen to things, like it's almost holographic.

But man, Star Wars IMAX 3D is going to destroy me. It'll be great.

So, this is kinda a dumb thing but...the other day I said someone was so mad they were gonna have kittens, and I vaguely remembered as soon as I said it that it was from a movie but couldn't remember at all which one.

Remembered this morning:

Anyone who has played fantasy football will appreciate that heading into the Sunday Night Football game, I felt quite screwed as I needed the Vikings D to outscore Eli Manning by at least 8 points.

THEY DID. Several turnovers, sacks, and a defensive score later, Eli Manning ultimately gets pulled from the game and I win my league championship, which is my second in a row and my third overall.

After the early games (including Saturday) saw my opponent throw up some massive points with Jordan Reed, DeAndre Hopkins, Julio Jones and the Texans' D, I had essentially acquiesced to defeat. Luckily, Drew Brees and Brandin Cooks came up HUGE and I managed to wrangle the win. It comes with a nice little $550 payday and I've been so excited, I actually haven't slept yet

ThinkGeek recently opened a brick and mortar store in a mall here in Houston. Went tonight. It is as awesome as you think it should be.

Well, this happened over the weekend.

I am now a married man.

The ceremony was great. Our officiant loved that we wanted her to start off . It was a short but fun.

Never would have thought I'd see this happen.

This is either a "sh*tty" day post, or a " what made your day" post and I really can't decide which:

My kids both have diarrhea, and so to make sure they aren't sitting in their own filth, if they cry in the middle of the night, I make sure they're clean. This is pretty outside the norm for me. If I hear my kids cry, I give them a few minutes to try to work it out on their own before checking on them.
My daughter starting crying, so I went to check on her. She was okay, but once I got her calmed, I heard my son crying in the next room, just much quieter.
When I went to check on him, he had gotten his head tangled in the crib bumpers and was choking.

Absolutely terrifying, but thank GOD he's okay. I cut those things to pieces getting him out.
