Yesterday I had an all day horror movie marathon at my house with some friends. We started at 11:00 AM and ended around 4:30 AM. We watched (in order, to the best of my recollection):

Universal Dracula (the Spanish Version)
Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2
The Black Cat (1934 version with Karloff and Lugosi)
Dance of the Dead (2008)
Island of Lost Souls
Theatre of Blood
Bride of Frankenstein
Its The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

*break for new Walking Dead episode*
Mad Monster Party
Friday the 13th VI: Jason Lives
Monster Squad
Curse of Frankenstein
- well the beginning of CoF... this is when everything wrapped up. It sucks that Hammer couldn't be represented with a full movie, but there are only so many hours in a day.

It was a lot of fun and I honestly think I'd rather do that every year than go to a Halloween party.

As you can see, we didn't get to everything:

Stuff I wanted to show most but didn't get the chance: Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (Freddy was one of the only horror icons missing- we just didn't have enough time :(), Trick r Treat, Fright Night, the Brood, the Blob remake, Creepshow, and Halloween (although that was mostly because a few of us had watched it earlier in the week)... there just ain't enough time in a day.... maybe next year I'll go for 24 hours! :D

I personally enjoyed both the first two Halloween films. I think after the first two is when the others started to drop in awesomeness.

The Innocents

Great, great, great ghost movie. Based on a book by Henry James and with a script by Truman Capote (that's some pedigree!).

Lady in White

Couldn't sleep, and watched this forgotten ghost movie on This TV. I'm of two minds about it: a lot of scenes have that great '50s retro-feel the late '80s and early '90s was so good at capturing. You know: autumnal colors, light streaming in through the windows while the suburban family eats at the dinner table, and... err, the fact that it's set in the '50s (just how many movies from around 20 years ago were set in the '50s or '60s!? There must have been a major nostalgia wave). Unfortunately, the supernatural aspect isn't captured nearly as well, over-showing the ghosts with garish colors and bad composite work. These two aspects of the film clash.

Teen Wolf Too- I watched it on Netflix. Not as good as the first which wasn't that great of a film either. Typical 80s fare here.

The ending is....hmmm...it's like, he doesn't care that everyone he ever knew is dead and gone, he's just pissed he missed his date?

I mean, it is a little bit more believeable considering Cap is most likely a virgin and he was gonna get him some some....but one would think his first thought wouldn't be "I had a date"
