I usually don't give and receive a lot of gifts during the holidays (my family just has Christmas dinner and that's about all we do), but this year is a little different. So far, I got...

- $100 from my gramma
- An Atlanta Falcons travel mug from my company's Secret Santa
(almost got a freakin' bottle of homemade wine instead!)
- $15 gift card to Target which I used to buy gifts for others
- $20 gift card to Best Buy from my boss, I have yet to spend
(despite a disagreement between us, awwwww)
- $20 gift card to Panda Express from my other boss
- Gamera vs. Barugon from a good friend
- Mystery gift that I will receive from my friends after Xmas
(I have nooo idea what it is)

And, from the (which I suggest Monster Zero does something similar next year)
- Red Steel 2 for the Wii
- Tech N9ne's new collabo album "Welcome to Strangeland"
"Vishnu takes on his multi-armed form, and says, "RAAAAAHHHOOO!!!'"

Hmmm, I have lots of nice stuff.

The first toys I've gotten in a long while: A stuffed Jake and some mini-figure packs from my fav show Adventure Time (yay, Lumpy Space Princess!), and (this is the geekiest thing I got) a little statuette of Scrooge McDuck!

Got lots of comic book collections, like an over-sized Hellboy hardcover, Usagi Yojimbo and Finder tpbs, and collections of old newspaper strips like Popeye and Pogo.

Plenty of DVDs (latest MST3K set, both seasons of Community), and Blu-Rays (Destroy All Monsters, Nausicaa, Mimic: The Director's Cut)

And some shirts, a nice new pair of sneakers, gift card for a movie theater and Hanukkah coins (a Christmas tradition).

But I gotta say, as I get older I find I get more and more pleasure out of giving gifts and not just getting them. I probably spent more money then I should have - oh well, I'll just start saving starting tomorrow, after all: Christmas comes but once a year!

My creative wife always gets me cool stuff I never knew I wanted (or even existed many times). This Christmas she got me this:

Image

It's a replica toe claw from , cast from the original fossil! And, even better, we're going to take a trip out to the Black Hills Institute to see Stan and all his dinosaur friends at their museum.

Other highlights include the book Rex Appeal (also from my wife) which is all about the fiasco surrounding Sue the T. Rex as told by the guy who dug her up (& went to prison for a bit b/c of the ordeal).

An iaito for my Toyama Ryu class.

Godzilla Monster Arts figure.

Force FX lightsaber with the new removable blade feature (Luke's ANH style)
