Help needed

I'm not really sure what to call this topic but tonight while at work I got some incredibly bad news; my best friend was taken to prison over the weekend from some fines he owed the military. In order to get him out his family needs $3,000 to pay off the fines then another $3,000 for a laywer to help clear the charges for good.

What happend was back in 2008 he joined the military and while he was away he had some family isses with his wife leaving him and taking their two kids away from him for a couple of months and right as he was supposed to report back to base he had a vehicle accident which rendered him unable to report for duty.

The military dropped him as active but he had to pay back the amount he owed something like $12,000 he got on a payment plan but missed the past few months so now they're trying to get him on charges of AWOL and stuff.

So my question to you guys is what's the best way to get some money even if it's just a couple hundred at a time? His family plans on paying it back in a couple of months once tax season comes it's just they need the money now.

ANY help would be apperciated.
