Matthew Lillard's Greatest Role

Postby jellydonut25 » Wed Nov 17, 2010 3:26 am

You knew it was coming, and in fact it is the culmination (read: end) of the now evidently infamous(?) "Matthew Lillard Phase".

What is, in your opinion, Matthew Lillard's best role?
Is it his break-through role in Ghoulies III: Ghoulies Go to College?
Perhaps you prefer his appearance in the immortal Hackers?
Maybe you're a huge Scream fan, and you wish you and Stu Macher could have gone Ghost Face together instead of that sleazeball Johnny Depp wannabe Skeet Ulrich?
You may be a fan of his lone (the nerve!) award-winning performance as Stevo in SLC Punk!
Suppose you're a closet Rachel Leigh-Cook fan and for that reason alone you love him as Brock Hudson in She's All That?
Could you possibly be the lone person who thinks Thir13en Ghosts is a good movie (and a title that makes sense) and you like him as Dennis Rafkin the ghost communicator?
Maybe you agree that his Shaggy Rogers is second only to Casey Kasem's.
Or could you be a Seth Green apologist and enjoy his role as Jerry Conlaine in Without a Paddle?

Whichever you are, odds are that you've only seen one of these movies, so by default that would be your "favorite," I mean, I'm the Unofficial President of the Unofficial Matthew Lillard Fan Club: Monster Zero Chapter and I've only seen a couple of these movies as the rest look like unwatchable drek made even more unbearable...i mean, only made remotely bearable by Mad Matt's acting chops...

Personally, while I admit to being tempted by the final option in the poll, I pick Shaggy.

I'm just gonna wait here until Bryan shows up with a machine gun.

BTW, Ghoulies III might be the best movie on that list. And I don't mean that in a positive way.

On a side note, I love that nobody agrees in the poll yet. Everybody cast votes for something different.

Shaggy's last name is Rogers?

And how could you leave out such classics as Wing Commander and Uwe Boll's tour de force, In The Name of the King?

You must show no mercy, nor have any belief whatsoever in how others judge you... for your greatness will silence them all!
