Can anybody recommend good DVD playing software?

And not PowerDVD. I just got PowerDVD and it is terrible, dare I say worse than Windows Media Player. Both WMP and PDVD give me jerky playback on some DVDs, but not all. CM's Ghidorah the Three-Headed Monster works fine, but their Godzilla disc plays jerky as hell on both programs. These are just two examples, but I need a program that can play all of the DVDs in my collection without turning to "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!", as opposed to just half of them.

Note that the problem only occurs when I put the players in fullscreen mode. They both play smoothly if the player is only taking up a fraction of the screen, but once they get big enough it's like the video playback can't keep up with the audio. And as mentioned before, it's only like this for some titles, but it's consistent between both programs.

Does anybody else ever have these problems with the programs? And can anybody recommend a good alternative? I was told PowerDVD would be a good alternative to WMP, but it's just as bad for me. Is there anything that's actually better?

I just use VLC Media Player. It's free and supports pretty much everything.
