Six months ago, me and my good friend were sitting on our asses, watching American Gladiators and making fun of the '80s fashion choices. Then, we both wondered why they didn't bring the show back. Low and behold, I see the commercial for the NEW American Gladiators. I was talking with that very friend on the phone tonight (she just finished Air Force basic training), and I completely forgot to mention this bit of news to her.

Anyone else remember that God-awful kids version of American Gladiators where they did un-gladiator like "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" such as solve math problems?

You must show no mercy, nor have any belief whatsoever in how others judge you... for your greatness will silence them all!

I have it taped too and caught about 40 minutes of it. It's the same old show pretty much (which isn't bad), but I am not a big fan of the dramatic music playing during the events... Plus I have no idea who does the commentary. I was expecting Hogan and Ali to come on when suddenly you get two guys that I don't believe they introduced.

Finally finished watching the first episode... I had no clue that another episode was on Monday night. In any case, it was fun and that one guy who tried out 14 years before but didn't make it was hilarious in that first event with the false start and then assaulting the gladiator. Then during the Pyramid, Wolf f'n pile drove him down the bottom! That was pretty awesome.

In any case, it's fun to watch just like the old ones but again... I really do not like that dramatic music playing during the events.
