I'm a fan of early Stephen King, and I recently noticed that there's an "illustrated edition" of 'Salem's Lot that came out a couple years ago that purports to have a significant amount of new (or previously deleted) material inserted into the text. I've got the 1999 mass market paperpack version and I was wondering if it was worth coughing up another $20 for this one. The reviews on Amazon are useless, largely just rehashing the plot 425 times or arguing with previous reviewers about whether King's vampires are more "correct" than Anne Rice's.
Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone on the board has it and if they would recommend it or not. "Illustrations" aren't a deal breaker for me (It's my understanding that they consist of like 5 b&w photos), but I do want to know if the text is different enough to warrant a look.
