My first Marvel Comics gig (kaiju related)

Postby Madison Carter » Tue Aug 16, 2005 4:14 pm

Today, Marvel Comics released their solicitations for books coming out in November, and one will be co-written by yours truly. With the resurgence of the classic monsters from 1950s and 60s books like TALES OF SUSPENSE and STRANGE TALES, especially in upcoming projects like FANTASTIC FOUR/IRON MAN: BIG IN JAPAN, the MARVEL MONSTERS four-part one-shots, HOWLING COMMANDOS and the current story arc in EXILES, Marvel has put together a sort of Handbook for these creatures, which will ship, as stated, in November. It's the first of several projects I'm tapped to do for the company. Here's the official solicit for the book:

Is the Ironman psuedo Godzilla covered? To clarify, I read in an old Don Glut book that months after Marvel lost their license to Godzilla, that monster making masked mad scientist character from one of the Godzilla comic arcs pops up in IRONMAN with a vaugly familiar beast in his control that he hints was at one time Godzilla (though never named.) I'd love to imagine it looks like the marvel G with yellow splotches and a thrilly neck collar! I've always been curious to see the way he looked. Congrats on the gig with Mighty Marvel!!

Curious to see how you book will work in G without naming him specifically!
